Welcome To Feliciana Delights
In the oldest commercial building . Feliciana Delights got started fifteen years ago with muscadine jelly--and an invitation to the Saturday morning Red Stick Market in Baton Rouge.
Judith says, "The night before the market opened I said, 'I'd better make some pies. The Red Stick Market didn't have a baker.' So I made eight coconut pies, and they left my table in about five minutes! So then we started increasing and increasing and increasing our variety of pies. Then we went to our dinner meals and the gumbo and all the food that we do." Now those Feliciana Delights make up a list of goodies as long as your arm--red beans to crawfish pie, gumbo to lasagna. "the demand."
From mayhaw to muscadine Judith grows her own fruit and treats it all with the same care that she gives to those figs she's putting up. Judith carefully counts each one, making sure that there are 25 figs in each jar of preserves. A Feliciana Delight from a delightful Feliciana lady.
